Jeffery M. Cross Authors Article on Antitrust Violations

There is one glaring exception to a Department of Justice policy that considers the existence of a compliance program as a factor in determining whether to charge a corporation with a crime: when the crime at issue is an antitrust violation.

Freeborn attorney Jeffery M. Cross, a Partner in the Firm's Litigation Practice Group, recently penned an opinion piece on the issue, arguing that it’s time for the antitrust division of the Justice Department to reconsider this policy. The piece, titled "Eliminate the Antitrust Exception to Corporate Charging Guidelines," published in the June/July print edition of Today's General Counsel and was included in the publication's weekly e-newsletter on July 23, 2014.
