Freeborn & Peters LLP Recognized as ˜Law Firm Partnership of the Year" for its Ongoing Contributions to Chicago Scholars

Each year, the Sun-Times Judge Marovitz Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth organization recognizes a law firm’s outstanding contributions to a tutoring/mentoring program. On September 20th, the organization will honor Freeborn & Peters LLP with the 2012 My Hero/Law Firm Partnership of the Year Award for its work with Chicago Scholars, a citywide program that provides students from recently emigrated families and under-resourced communities with mentorship, college admissions, support, and access to summer internships and career programming.

Kathryn C. Thomas, a Partner in the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group, will accept the award of the firm’s behalf. Ms. Thomas has served as a Chicago Scholars Board Member and tutor/mentor for nearly four years. Ms. Thomas was also recently elected as an officer of the Chicago Scholars Board Executive Committee and is a Chair of the mentoring program.
